The Uiltje Brewing Company was founded in 2012, in Haarlem, The Netherlands. The founder is Robbert Uijleman. Uiltje, which translates to "owl" in Dutch, reflects Robbert's personal logo and branding. Uijleman's initial vision was to create Dutch beers that push the boundaries of flavor, particularly focusing on Pale Ales, IPAs, and Imperial Stouts, which were not widely available in the Netherlands at the time. He started brewing in his kitchen, eventually partnering with Jopen brewery to produce his recipes on a larger scale. He handles much of the brewery's creative aspects, including label design and website maintenance.
